About the Ravens Nest 13
Birds of Prey: Ravens Nest No. 13 of Columbia, Maryland Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity organization whose primary purpose is to provide aid and assistance to those less fortunate in Howard County and Maryland. Ravens Nest 13 is an officially chartered chapter of the Birds of Prey: Chamber of Ravens Nest. For more information, please contact Mike Blair.

History
In 2004, patrons of Michael’s Pub created a non-profit organization known as Birds of Prey: Ravens Nest No. 13 of Columbia, Maryland Inc. Since inception, Nest 13 has funded over $27,000 of projects for their neighbors in need. Nest 13 has been dedicated in supporting the Salvation Army, Domestic Violence Center, Kernans Hospital, Kennedy Kreiger, Hopkins Pediatric ICU and St. Agnes Hospital. Every year, Nest 13 has made sure there are toys under the Christmas tree, the book bags are full for children to return to school, and families have dinners for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Nest 13 also gave a family a final vacation with a family member who later succumbed to cancer, and paid for part of the funeral expenses of another fellow Howard County resident. Each year, Nest 13 continues to fulfill its motto of "Neighbors helping Neighbors."

In 2009, Ravens Nest 13 sponsored the following events:
- Easter - Ravens Nest 13 adopted twenty five (25) families.
In 2008, Ravens Nest 13 sponsored the following events:
- Easter - Ravens Nest 13 adopted eight (8) families.
- Back to School Drive - Ravens Nest 13 adopted sixty-one (61) children. The Nest provided school supplies to these children.
- Thanksgiving - Ravens Nest 13 adopted twenty five (25) families/thirty eight (38) children). The Nest provided each family meals for Thanksgiving holiday.
- Christmas - Ravens Nest 13 adopted eight twenty five (25) families/thirty eight (38) children). The Nest provided each family meals for the Christmas holiday, clothing, and toys. Ravens Nest 13 also provided toys to children receiving treatment at Kennedy Kreiger, St. Agnes Hospital, and Kernan Hospital.
- Winner of the 2nd Annual Wells Fargo / Salvation Army Kettle Challenge.
In 2007, Ravens Nest 13 sponsored the following events:
- Back to School Drive - Ravens Nest 13 adopted forty-one (41) children. The Nest provided school supplies to these children.
- Thanksgiving - Ravens Nest 13 adopted eight (8) families. The Nest provied each family meals for Thanksgiving holiday.
- Christmas - Ravens Nest 13 adopted eight (8) families. The Nest provided each family meals for the Christmas holiday, clothing, and toys. Ravens Nest 13 also provided toys to children receiving treatment at Kennedy Kreiger, St. Agnes Hospital, and Kernan Hospital.
- Willis McGahee 1st Annual Toy Drive - Ravens Nest 13 and its members provided toys to Willis McGahee Toy Drive. These toys were then donated to the Howard County Community Action Council who distributed them to citizens of Howard County in need.

- Easter Drive - Ravens Nest 13 adopted one family. The Nest provided the family Easter Dinner.
- Thanksgiving - Ravens Nest 13 adopted six families. The Nest provided each family meals for Thanksgiving holiday.
- Christmas - Ravens Nest 13 adopted six families. The Nest provided each family meals for the Christmas holiday, clothing, and toys. Ravens Nest 13 also provided toys to children receiving treatment at Kennedy Kreiger, St. Agnes Hospital, and Kernan Hospital.

Contributions
Ravens Nest 13 raises monies to support charities, hospitals, and local organizations by conducting raffles and accepting donations from private and corporate donors. After administrative expenses, monies raised from raffles that are designated for charties and donations are used to suppor the charitable events and donations of Ravens Nest 13.
